Mass Bay Junior Sailing Ladder Events are Postponed!

With the final championship events in LATE July this summer, it is apparent that we are having a difficult time getting a meaningful Mass Bay event to send our best junior sailors on to the semifinals in Wild Harbor, Falmouth, MA on July 14-16. If you are an eligible team and would like to compete at the Area A semifinals for the Singlehanded, Doublehanded or Triplehanded Championship representing a club from Mass Bay Sailing. Please submit your sailing resume along with contact info electronically to Gordon Baird at gordon@rampartsfarm.com
Deadline for submission is Friday, July 11 at 2100 hours. Multiple teams from the same club are welcome to apply. Three teams will be selected for singlehanded and double handed and two teams will be selected for triplehanded.

Mass Bay Sailing has decided to postpone our championships to the first week of August. None of the Junior Championships allow coaching so they should minimize the impact on your instructors at home. The Wood Trophy (under 14 year olds) does allow coaching. The new dates are:
Doublehanded for the Charles Trophy as well as Finlay Cup, Curtis Cup and Gallagher Trophy- Monday 0930, August 4 at MIT in supplied FJs with a clinic. First come, first served with multiple entries per club. Max entries 18. http://sailing.mit.edu/
Triplehanded for the Gray Trophy- Tuesday 1730 til sunset, August 5 at Courageous Sailing Center in supplied Rhodes 19s. First come, first served with multiple entries per club. Max entries 12. http://www.courageoussailing.org/
Mass Bay Midget Championship for the Wood Trophy- Wednesday 0930, August 6 at MIT in supplied tech dinghies. One entry per club and both sailors must be under 14 on September 1. Sailors may be coached and may practice at MIT ahead of time. http://sailing.mit.edu/

Singlehanded for Tom Curtis Trophy- Friday 1730 til dark thirty, August 8 at MIT in supplied tech dinghies. Unlimited entries. http://sailing.mit.edu/

BONUS INCENTIVE- Any Mass Bay Sailing club which sends competitors to all four of these junior championships will receive a FREE team race seminar for their most skilled junior sailors in 2009. Clinic will be presented by Matt Lindblad and Fran Charles, MIT Varsity Sailing Coaches
